572 Where it's time for a downgrade (podcast) Saturday, April 3, 2010 [1] [2]
Jeff Bakalar is out sick today but luckily Natali Del Conte is back from her sojourn to San Francisco and fills in on today's episode of CNET's The 404 Podcast. I hope you had a better weekend than mine; I almost had a sleepover at the Apple Store after my iPhone inexplicably broke...again! The display on my 6-month-old phone stopped working, so I've decided to stick it out with a budget Samsung flip phone until the fourth-generation iPhone comes out.

573 Where seriously, whose iPhone 4G prototype is this? (podcast) Sunday, April 4, 2010 [3] [4]
We're all wondering what's going on with the story of the Apple iPhone 4G prototype found in a Redwood City, Calif., bar and its subsequent sale to Gizmodo. CNET News Senior Writer Greg Sandoval drops by the studio to fill us in on all the latest developments, including who exactly found the phone, how it eventually got into the hands of Gizmodo editor Jason Chen, and why it's never a good idea to purchase anything you know for a fact is stolen! Unfortunately, "finders keepers, losers weepers" only holds water on the playground.

574 Where we're wasting away in Margaritaville (podcast) Monday, April 5, 2010 [5] [6]
Our third host, Jeff Bakalar, doesn't get sick very often, but when it pains, it roars. The last two days have been rough (no offense to Wilson), but we can all breathe easier now that his 10 arms are back running the engineering board just in time for Cinco de Mayo! Unfortunately, we ran out of margarita mix awhile ago, but will you settle for a Jimmy Buffet reference with an extra-funny episode of The 404 Podcast on the side? It's all we got!

575 Where true love smells like Jasmine (podcast) Tuesday, April 6, 2010 [7] [8]
Today we celebrate the anniversary of Jasmine France's first visit to The 404 studios. This time around we've given her a few days to recover from her flight to New York, but if you don't remember what happened last year, we've got a hilarious clip at the start of the show to refresh your memory.

576 Where milk was a bad choice (podcast) Wednesday, April 7, 2010 [9] [10]
Yesterday, we talked to Jasmine France about her new Tech Dos and Don'ts column on the MP3 Insider blog and we all left the show convinced there's an online dating Web site out there for everyone's interests, no matter how niche...and we were right!

577 Where we will not quack at the principal (podcast) Saturday, April 10, 2010 [11] [12]
Leave it to Wilson to make the rest of us look bad on Mother's Day. While we were all scrambling to make it to Duane Reade before closing time on Saturday, Wilson had already ordered a Fed Ex truck to deliver all the presents to his Mother down in Florida. We hope the rest of you had a fun weekend, but don't forget that just because Mother's Day is over doesn't mean that you're off the hook for the rest of the year; keep up the love!

578 Where we believe the children are the future (podcast) Sunday, April 11, 2010 [13] [14]
Wilson's powers to predict the future must be waning because he didn't warn us about the illness keeping him bedridden during today's episode of The 404 Podcast. The universe seems to work itself out, however, because CNET News reporter Caroline McCarthy is back from her sojourn to San Francisco, and hopefully on a semi-permanent basis this time!

579 Where we let the poison out in 3D (podcast) Monday, April 12, 2010 [15] [16]
Wilson's 24-hour bug lays dormant for now, so he's back on today's episode of The 404 Podcast just in time to usher Hugh Hefner and his gang of co-eds into the studio! Trust me, if we had a magic lamp in the room we'd be rubbing it to no end for that wish to come true, but until that day comes we'll have to settle for Playboy Magazine centerfolds in 3D.

580 Where Jeff and Natali do not speak Farsi (podcast) Tuesday, April 13, 2010 [17] [18]
Jeff and Natali attended a special event last night to kick off the June 4 launch of the HTC Evo 4G and were also given a sneak peak of Hollywood's latest video game movie adaptation, "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time." Without dropping any spoilers, suffice it to say it means a lot when you walk out of a movie with free admission and cupcakes.

581 Where we try to eat the meat off the chicken feet (podcast) Wednesday, April 14, 2010 [19] [20]
404 listeners Derrick the Unofficial 404 Photographer and Henry the Unofficial 404 Uncle surprise us in the office today with breakfast! Well, kind of. Chicken feet, anyone? That's right, the boys were kind enough to make a stop in Chinatown to pick up a few select dim sum dishes for us to try on the air, and by "us" I actually mean "Wilson," because Jeff can barely even handle the sight of the food, and let's face it: there are some foods that even this Chinese guy won't touch

582 Where we give 'em the horns (podcast) Saturday, April 17, 2010 [21] [22]
Today's episode of CNET's The 404 Podcast kicks off with breaking news from Nintendo, which just announced a partnership with the American Heart Association. In an effort to combat the irrefutable evidence that video games will make you fat, all Nintendo retail boxes will proudly display the AHA's heart-shaped logo in conjunction with a Web site offering healthy-lifestyle tips.

583 Where we're switching back to Hotmail (podcast) Sunday, April 18, 2010 [23] [24]
We've always noticed something a little off about our dear Wilson G. Tang, but today's episode finally kicks the door open on the severity of his addiction to technology. Our frightening discovery begins with a CNN article that exposes the Apple iPad and other brightly lit devices as the reason why some people have trouble sleeping at night. The hypothesis belongs to Oakland resident J.D. Moyer, who set out to prove that using devices with backlit displays in bed can actually reset a person's internal sleep clock and even trick your brain into thinking that it's daytime.

584 Where we make the cut (podcast) Monday, April 19, 2010 [25] [26]
If you weren't hungry before listening to today's episode of CNET's The 404 Podcast, you definitely will be afterward. And lucky for us, there are approximately 7,291 McDonalds locations in Manhattan for us to indulge our cravings for grease. We're also considering moving our uncomfortably hot recording studio to the McDonalds around the corner, mostly because they're about to get a lot more comfortable.
